1) Please make sure to come to our Division meeting on Thursday, November 14th from 12:30-1:50 in the Marriott Marquis, Salon C2 on the B2 level.
2) During our meeting, you can help us celebrate our award winners. Dr. Gary LaFree is our 2019 DTBC distinguished scholar and Leevia Dillon and Michael Becker won 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Student Paper Award competition.
3) The election results are in! Congratulations to our chair elect, Dr. Laura Dugan; vice chair elect, Dr. Jeff Gruenewald; Executive counselor, Dr. Jennifer Varriale Carson and student members, Noah Turner and L. Cait Kanewske. Additionally, the change in by-laws regarding adding a web manager to the board has been approved.
4) Our division meeting is not only an excellent opportunity to network with your colleagues from across the world, but we will also have special guests from various agencies to discuss current research opportunities, what to expect to focus on in the future, and how to apply for funding to these agencies. You can expect to hear from Nadine Frederique (DOJ), Richard Legault (DHS), as well as representatives from Australia National Security Research Division and Public Safety Canada.
